Got up a little earlier today to get to the Grand Palace early before the big run. Apparently 5000 Chinese people thought the same. Even the way there was long. It took us an hour to finally get there. And it was horrible. We’ve been there a few times now but we’ve never experienced such a crowd. There were selfie sticks in the air everywhere. The Chinese only ever take photos of themselves – no eye for art and culture.
1st mistake: going there when it was closed the day before (Mondays, during or after a Buddhist holiday)
2nd mistake: take the ferry if you’re in a hurry.
The day before yesterday we booked tickets for the Siam Niramit Theater for tonight. The show is a short journey through Siam’s history, legends and myths. We got there and back quickly by cab. The show itself was breathtaking, varied with wonderful backdrops and staging.
