Patong Beach
What a horror. This is probably the most disgusting beach in the whole of Phuket. Apparently, the hotels here still discharge their waste water into the sea untreated. It stinks to high heaven. But nobody else seems to mind. The beach is full. At one point, people are lying directly where the sewage flows into the sea.
Our hotel has a pool on the roof. Far enough away from the stench. The room is on two floors. The sleeping area and bathroom are downstairs. Upstairs a living area, a small kitchen with a dining table and a balcony with a whirlpool.
The air conditioning heat exchanger (on the balcony on the sleeping floor) was always very loud and everything vibrated when it started up from time to time. I therefore set the air conditioning to 25 degrees so that it didn’t start up so often.
We then reserved a table at the Baan Rim Pa restaurant for 7:30 pm. It seems to be the most exclusive Thai restaurant here. At least as far as the prices are concerned. The food was good but completely overpriced. No comparison to Kampong Kata Hill where we paid less than half the price for comparable food of even better quality.
At the end of the day, relaxing in our whirlpool ?
